TAG Testing/ TAG Class Cancellations

Dear Parents,

Due to our fall TAG testing administration, TAG classes will be cancelled the week of September 26-30 and delayed the week of October 3-7.  We are testing approximately 75 students, many of which require 5 sessions to complete all testing.  We apologize for the cancellation and delayed classes.  In the meantime, encourage your child to use the Renzulli Learning website for differentiated activities (www.renzullilearning.com).  Fourth and fifth grade students can also work on compiling resources for their research projects.  Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.  Thank you for your support and patience during the testing process.

FCSG Welcome Letter

 September 1, 2011

Welcome to a new year in your talented and gifted child’s school life! If your child benefits from the enriched environment and opportunities offered through your school’s gifted program, this is your chance to join a group that has supported Fulton County Schools gifted program for many years. We need your participation to continue to support and enhance one of our nation’s premiere gifted programs.

FCSG is an entirely volunteer organization which was established to:

Support parents, teachers and advocates of gifted children

Provide annual curriculum “mini-grants” to TAG teachers

Fund student attendance at academic-oriented summer camps for enhanced learning opportunities through scholarships

Fund teacher professional development scholarships for conferences and workshops related to gifted education

Fund an annual luncheon for TAG teachers

Sponsor educational meetings on gifted issues, and

Distribute information, including legislative developments and links to other gifted groups, through a newsletter and website (www.fultongifted.org)

All of these activities are made possible through your membership dues, contributions and volunteer support. We hope you will join us today. Your membership in FCSG includes membership in the Georgia Association for Gifted Children, among whose benefits include a newsletter specifically targeted toward the gifted students in our state.

FCSG welcomes parents interested in serving on the FCSG Board as well as numerous other opportunities to organize meetings, evaluate TAG teacher grant applications and other of our activities.

Check the TAG Information link for more information about FCSG!

We’ll see you in the Cafeteria on Thursday night!
